The rematch answered the handoff question pretty bluntly. May was out after two innings and 66 pitches after allowing seven runs, while Gilbert covered five innings on 100 pitches and allowed three. Milwaukee’s relievers then held Seattle scoreless for seven innings, but that was an awfully long repair job after the starter left.
