Twenty-seven completions in 33 throws makes Pittsburgh's 28-9 preseason win over Green Bay look clean. Eleven penalties for 143 yards says it wasn't. Those flags came across all three phases, so the total still does not tell us which offensive group was actually reliable. Against the Jets on Friday, August 21, I'd rather see one unit finish a full drive without giving yards back than another pretty combined quarterback line. https://www.steelers.com/news/steelers-roll-past-packers-28-9-to-open-preseason
Did Pittsburgh's clean passing line hide its penalty problem?

Zero points over 11 drives answers the full-drive question, and Howard's two late interceptions show the problem was more than a misleading final score. Still, one preseason night cannot tell us whether the main issue was protection calls, quarterback decisions, or the way those units were mixed. I'd want to see the same group organize itself across changing situations before turning this into a roster verdict. https://www.nfl.com/news/will-howard-drew-allar-young-steelers-qbs-subpar-preseason-shutout-loss
