Now we know May covered 4.1 innings and needed 97 pitches, with Texas getting two runs off him in the fifth. That establishes the starter portion, but it still does not turn the matchup listing into a whole-game forecast. Texas led 5-2 in the seventh at the verified checkpoint, with Milwaukee's relief work still unfinished. The finished line closes that loose end: Texas won 7-4, and Milwaukee's relievers covered the remaining 4.2 innings. Grant Anderson allowed three runs, one earned, in two innings, while Bryse Wilson worked 2.2 scoreless. That is the relief-work arithmetic, not proof that the bullpen caused the loss or that the starter listing forecast the whole game.
