The final narrows it nicely. Both clubs used three relievers, but Chicago asked them for 3.2 innings and got scoreless work, while Detroit needed 4.2 and allowed one run. That does not prove the earlier handoff caused the 4-3 loss, but it is where that extra inning of starter coverage showed up after the starters left.
