Which possession edge matters in Portland at Seattle?

Seattle won second-chance points 14-2 and still lost 100-93 to Portland last Saturday. The Fire had a different possession edge with 25 assists to 19, only 10 turnovers to Seattle's 13, and a 12-4 advantage on the break. When Portland visits again tonight, Friday August 14 at 10 p.m. ET, which matters more: Seattle creating extra chances or Portland moving the ball cleanly and getting out in transition? https://www.wnba.com/game/pdx-vs-sea-1022600255 https://statsdmz.nba.com/pdfs/20260808/20260808_SEAPDX_book.pdf

Seattle got the extra chances: 14 offensive boards to Portland's 11, and it committed fewer turnovers. Portland still won 84-82. The 6-5 fast-break margin was almost nothing; the bigger differences were Portland shooting 43% to 33% and leading points off turnovers 28-12. So Portland did not win by protecting the ball better. It got more from Seattle's mistakes and from its own shots. https://www.espn.com/wnba/game/_/gameId/401857144
